• Special Champ Series Notice!

Here is more information regarding the pool and setup for the Champ Series Meets and the Last Chance Meet at the Galena Park Pool.

• Practices

Practices the week of June 21st are limited to those swimmers who are attending the Champ Meet or the Last Chance Meet. Practice times:

8:30 - 9:30 Swimmers 13 and over

9:30 - 10:30 Swimmers 12 and under

• Last Chance Meet

Tuesday, June 23rd, 2009, 6:30pm

Galena Park ISD Natatorium, 15027 Wallisville Rd.

Warm-ups are from 5:20 - 6:15pm.

Entries are due to Leigh Sickler by Sunday, June 21st, and payment -- $3 per event -- is due by Tuesday, June 23rd (can pay at practice). On deck entries are available. You can arrive at Galena Park between 4:00 and 5:15, and pay a $5.00 per event entry fee at the registration table. No entries will be accepted after 5:30 pm.

• Champ Meet

Saturday, June 27th, 8:15am

Galena Park ISD Natatorium, 15027 Wallisville Rd.

Warm-ups are from 6:45 - 7:00 am in Lanes 7 and 8. Arrive at the pool by 6:30 am and check in with the coaches.

• Champ Series (Champ/Reserve/Novice Meets)

At the end of the Season, the entire League swims in a huge meet called Champ Series. There is a place for any swimmer on our team to compete as long as they have competed in at least 2 of the 5 season meets. Download event details here and registration form here.

Our Goal

The Nassau Bay Swim Team - the Nauticats - seeks to provide a high quality swim program for our youth. We have programs for youth ranging from 8 and under to age 18. We want our swimmers to improve their aquatic skills, learn the principles of teamwork and good sportsmanship, and to develop an interest in competitive swimming.

How Long is the Season?

Our program starts with registration in March. Practice begins in earnest in early May with daily after school weekday sessions. When school ends practices are held each weekday morning. The competitive swim meet season starts later in May and finishes with the Champ meet is early July. Most meets are on Saturday morning.

Want to Volunteer?

We have a continuing need for volunteers to support the swim team. At least 60 parents participate in every home meet and 30 in each away meet. Volunteer positions include all aspects of swim meet support, ranging from scoring and ribbon writing to being stroke and turn judges and referees. Training is provided.
